Description: The TGSE Housing Strategy Group is made up of representatives of five local authorities (Basildon, Castle Point, Rochford, Southend and Thurrock) and five RSLs (Estuary, Family Mosaic, Guinness, Moat and Swan). The Housing Group is not constituted as a separate legal entity. Basildon District Council will be the accountable body for the Group and accordingly the contract will be commissioned through Basildon District Council. The purpose of the course is to provide course participants with a greater understanding of impact design on the built environment providing them with better skills to challenge consultants and applicants and gain more value from their developments. Also to work more effectively with stakeholders, decision makers and the various components of regeneration delivery. This course should be tailored to meet the needs of housing and planning professionals from both housing associations and local authority housing, planning and regeneration departments.

12. Other information: The course should be delivered over approximately six half day sessions with additional homework and research. In addition provision should be made for a study trip. The course should cover a range of topics including: Sustainable place-making, Design statements, Physical form and its impact on the environment, Development briefs, Building for Life and Review and monitoring. It is proposed that the training takes place in early summer 2009/10 and is repeated again in 2010/2011. The Council will not be obliged to accept any proposals. You will not be entitled to claim from the Council any costs or expenses which you may incur in preparing your tender whether or not it should be successful. Expressions of Interest - to include your company profile in not more than one A4 sheet - are invited from organisations that can demonstrate a strong track record of this type of training delivery. Relevant companies will be invited to tender.
